Al Mayadine Ensembel includes Marcel Khalife (oud), Charbel Rouhana (oud), Ali El Khatib (riq), and Abboud El Saadi (bass). Marcel Khalife is a Lebanese musician, yet this album is solely contemporary music for oud and that is why it is being categorized under "Contemporary" rather than "Lebanon." He has also more traditional albums that we categorized under "Lebanon." We will briefly review Marcel Khalife and Charbel Rouhana.

"Marcel Khalife was born in 1950 in Amchit, Lebanon. He studied the Near Eastern lute, known in Arabid as the oud at the National Academy of Music in Beirut ... Marcel taught at the National Academy of Music and other institutions from 1970 to 1975. During that time, he also performed solo concerts throughout the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and North America. In 1972, Marcel formed a group of musicians in Amchit, the town he was born. The group, which then performed in Lebanon want, wanted to revive Arabic music and choral heritage. The Amchit group was an experience Marcel built upon to lauch Al Mayadine Ensemble have and continue to perform in concerts in the Arab world, Africa, Europe, the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Japan ...

Charbel Rouhana was born in 1965 in Amchit, Lebanon. In 1982, he began studying at the Faculty of Music Holy-Spiri University in Kaslik, Lebanon, where he earned a diploma in Oud instrumenatation in 1986 and a B.A. in Musicology in 1987. Currently, he teaches the Oud at Holy-Spirit, as well as the National Academy of Music in Beirut and other academic institutions ... Charbel has been a member of the Al Mayadine Ensemble since 1984."
