On this album Said Chraibi is accompanied by El din Adel Shams on riq (a Middle-Eastern percussion).
"Said Chraibi was born in 1951 in Marrakech (Morocco). He is regarded as one of the greatest ud players in Morocco. He started to play ud at the age of 13, and the instrument has been with him ever since. He now performs internationally as a soloist, and orchestral musician and an accompanist to the greatest singers in the Arab world. The works he composes are a continuation of tradition, the result of his research into and work on ancient Arab-Andalusian, Turkish or Persian modes." (information from CD's program notes)
