Abdel Gadir Salim, Abdel Aziz El Mubarak Sounds of Sudan
This is a compilation CD, representing the works of four musicians; Abdel Gadir Salim (vocals and oud), Azhari Abdel Gadir (accordion), El Zubeir Mohamed El Hassan (tabla), Mohamed Gubara (vocals and tambour). We will briefly review the two oudists.

Abdel Gadir Salim, the exceptional singer, composer and oud player
was a student at the prestigious Institute of Music & Drama in
Khartoum, he turned for inspiration to the music of his native
Kordofan. The province of Kordofan is a desert region to the west of
the country, where most of the people are nomadic cattle herders. "Sounds of Sudan" was released in 1986 by World Circuit which is a label based in U.K. Word Circuit has a web-site where you can purchase this CD and see their catalog.
