The Slah Manaa Ensemble consists Slah Eddine Manaa (ney), Ridha Chemek (oud), Jamel Abid (kanun), Nabir Zammit (violin), Zoubeir Messai (tar). We will briefly review Ridha Chernek.

"He was born in la Chebba (Tunisia) in 1966. He received a masters of Arab music degree at the Superior Music Institute of Tunis in 1992. He also received a degree in ud in the same year. He composed pieces that were performed by Orchestra of Breeve and Orchestra of Belfort in France. In 1994, he won the second prize at the Festival of Tunisian Music. Since 1994, he has been a professor and a conductor of the orchestra of the Superior Music Institute of Tunis. He is also a musical director and a soloist of the Mediterranean Orchestra." The title of this CD on Pastorale Records is, "Une Variete Musique Arabe." In U.S. it was released by American Recording Productions with a different cover art and title in 1998.
